शग्ध्य् ऊ षु शचीपत इन्द्र विश्वाभिर् ऊतिभिः । भगं न हि त्वा यशसं वसुविदम् अनु शूर चरामसि ॥१॥
śagdhy ū ṣu śacīpata indra viśvābhir ūtibhiḥ | bhagaṃ na hi tvā yaśasaṃ vasuvidam anu śūra carāmasi ||1||
Wandering here the radiant Calf finds none to fetter him, and seeks The Mother to declare his praise.

pauro aśvasya purukṛd gavām asy utso deva hiraṇyayaḥ | nakir hi dānaṃ parimardhiṣat tve yadyad yāmi tad ā bhara ||2||
And now that great and mighty team, the team of horses that are his, And traces of his car, are seen.

indram id devatātaye indraṃ prayaty adhvare | indraṃ samīke vanino havāmaha indraṃ dhanasya sātaye ||3||
Indra for worship of the Gods, Indra while sacrifice proceeds, Indra, as worshippers in battle-shock, we call, Indra that we may win the spoil.

indro mahnā rodasī paprathac chava indraḥ sūryam arocayat | indre ha viśvā bhuvanāni yemira indre suvānāsa indavaḥ ||4||
With might hath Indra spread out heaven and earth, with power hath Indra lighted up the Sun. In Indra are all creatures closely held; in him meet the distilling Soma-drops.
