Atharvaveda Saṃhitā (Śaunaka) 20.79

इन्द्र क्रतुं न आ भर पिता पुत्रेभ्यो यथा । शिक्षा णो अस्मिन् पुरुहूत यामनि जीवा ज्योतिर् अशीमहि ॥१॥

indra kratuṃ na ā bhara pitā putrebhyo yathā | śikṣā ṇo asmin puruhūta yāmani jīvā jyotir aśīmahi ||1||

O Indra, give us wisdom as a sire gives wisdom to his sons. Guide us, O Much-invoked, in this our way may we still live and look upon the light.

AVŚ 20.79.2

मा नो अज्ञाता वृजना दुराध्यो माशिवासो अव क्रमुः । त्वया वयं प्रवतः शश्वतीर् अपो ऽति शूर तरामसि ॥२॥

mā no ajñātā vṛjanā durādhyo māśivāso ava kramuḥ | tvayā vayaṃ pravataḥ śaśvatīr apo 'ti śūra tarāmasi ||2||

Grant that no mighty foes, unknown, malevolent, unhallowed, tread us to the ground. With thine assistance, Hero, may we ass through all the waters that are rul`ng down.
