प्र घा न्व् अस्य महतो महानि सत्या सत्यस्य करणानि वोचम् । त्रिकद्रुकेष्व् अपिबत् सुतस्यास्य मदे अहिम् इन्द्रो जघान ॥
pra ghā nv asya mahato mahāni satyā satyasya karaṇāni vocam | trikadrukeṣv apibat sutasyāsya made ahim indro jaghāna ||
Now, verily, will I declare the exploits, mighty and true, of him the True and Mighty. In the Trikadrukas he drank the Soma then in its rapture Indra slew the Dragon.

अवंशे द्याम् अस्तभायद् बृहन्तम् आ रोदसी अपृणद् अन्तरिक्षम् । स धारयत् पृथिवीम् पप्रथच् च सोमस्य ता मद इन्द्रश् चकार ॥
avaṃśe dyām astabhāyad bṛhantam ā rodasī apṛṇad antarikṣam | sa dhārayat pṛthivīm paprathac ca somasya tā mada indraś cakāra ||
High heaven unsupported in space he stablished: he filled the two worlds and the air's mid-region. Earth he upheld, and gave it wide expansion. These things did Indra in the Soma's rapture.

सद्मेव प्राचो वि मिमाय मानैर् वज्रेण खान्य् अतृणन् नदीनाम् । वृथासृजत् पथिभिर् दीर्घयाथैः सोमस्य ता मद इन्द्रश् चकार ॥
sadmeva prāco vi mimāya mānair vajreṇa khāny atṛṇan nadīnām | vṛthāsṛjat pathibhir dīrghayāthaiḥ somasya tā mada indraś cakāra ||
From front, as 'twere a house, he ruled and measured; pierced with his bolt the fountains of the rivers, And made them flow at ease by paths far-reaching, These things did Indra in the Soma's rapture.

स प्रवोळ्हॄन् परिगत्या दभीतेर् विश्वम् अधाग् आयुधम् इद्धे अग्नौ । सं गोभिर् अश्वैर् असृजद् रथेभिः सोमस्य ता मद इन्द्रश् चकार ॥
sa pravoḷhṝn parigatyā dabhīter viśvam adhāg āyudham iddhe agnau | saṃ gobhir aśvair asṛjad rathebhiḥ somasya tā mada indraś cakāra ||
Compassing those who bore away Dabhiti, in kindled fire he burnt up all their weapons. And made him rich with kine and cars and horses. These things did Indra in the Soma's rapture.

sa īm mahīṃ dhunim etor aramṇāt so asnātṝn apārayat svasti | ta utsnāya rayim abhi pra tasthuḥ somasya tā mada indraś cakāra ||
The mighty roaring flood he stayed from flowing, and carried those who swam not safely over. They having crossed the stream attained to riches. These things did Indra in the Soma's rapture.

सोदञ्चं सिन्धुम् अरिणान् महित्वा वज्रेणान उषसः सम् पिपेष । अजवसो जविनीभिर् विवृश्चन् सोमस्य ता मद इन्द्रश् चकार ॥
sodañcaṃ sindhum ariṇān mahitvā vajreṇāna uṣasaḥ sam pipeṣa | ajavaso javinībhir vivṛścan somasya tā mada indraś cakāra ||
With mighty power he made the stream flow upward, crushed with his thunderbolt the car of Usas, Rending her slow steeds with his rapid coursers. These things did Indra in the Soma's rapture.

स विद्वां अपगोहं कनीनाम् आविर् भवन्न् उद् अतिष्ठत् परावृक् । प्रति श्रोण स्थाद् व्य् अनग् अचष्ट सोमस्य ता मद इन्द्रश् चकार ॥
sa vidvāṃ apagohaṃ kanīnām āvir bhavann ud atiṣṭhat parāvṛk | prati śroṇa sthād vy anag acaṣṭa somasya tā mada indraś cakāra ||
Knowing the place wherein the maids were hiding, the outcast showed himself and stood before them. The cripple stood erect, the blind beheld them. These things did Indra in the Soma's rapture.

भिनद् वलम् अङ्गिरोभिर् गृणानो वि पर्वतस्य दृंहितान्य् ऐरत् । रिणग् रोधांसि कृत्रिमाण्य् एषां सोमस्य ता मद इन्द्रश् चकार ॥
bhinad valam aṅgirobhir gṛṇāno vi parvatasya dṛṃhitāny airat | riṇag rodhāṃsi kṛtrimāṇy eṣāṃ somasya tā mada indraś cakāra ||
Praised by the Angirases he slaughtered Vala, and burst apart the bulwarks of the mountain. He tore away their deftly-built defences. These things did Indra in the Soma's rapture.

स्वप्नेनाभ्युप्या चुमुरिं धुनिं च जघन्थ दस्युम् प्र दभीतिम् आवः । रम्भी चिद् अत्र विविदे हिरण्यं सोमस्य ता मद इन्द्रश् चकार ॥
svapnenābhyupyā cumuriṃ dhuniṃ ca jaghantha dasyum pra dabhītim āvaḥ | rambhī cid atra vivide hiraṇyaṃ somasya tā mada indraś cakāra ||
Thou, with sleep whelming Cumuri and Dhuni, slewest the Dasyu, keptest safe Dabhiti. There the staff-bearer found the golden treasure. These things did Indra in the Soma's rapture.

नूनं सा ते प्रति वरं जरित्रे दुहीयद् इन्द्र दक्षिणा मघोनी । शिक्षा स्तोतृभ्यो माति धग् भगो नो बृहद् वदेम विदथे सुवीराः ॥
nūnaṃ sā te prati varaṃ jaritre duhīyad indra dakṣiṇā maghonī | śikṣā stotṛbhyo māti dhag bhago no bṛhad vadema vidathe suvīrāḥ ||
Now let that wealthy Cow of thine, O Indra , yield in return a boon to him who lauds thee. Give to thy praisers: let not fortune fail us. Loud may we speak, with brave men, in assembly.
