संशितं म इदं ब्रह्म संशितं वीर्यं बलम् । संशितं क्षत्रम् अजरम् अस्तु जिष्णुर् येषाम् अस्मि पुरोहितः ॥१॥
saṃśitaṃ ma idaṃ brahma saṃśitaṃ vīryaṃ balam | saṃśitaṃ kṣatram ajaram astu jiṣṇur yeṣām asmi purohitaḥ ||1||
Sharpened up is this incantation (? bráhman) of mine; sharpened up [my] heroism, strength; sharpened up, victorious, be the unwasting authority (kṣatrá) [of them] of whom I am the household priest (puróhita).

सम् अहम् एषां राष्ट्रं स्यामि सम् ओजो वीर्यं बलम् । वृश्चामि शत्रूणां बाहून् अनेन हविषा अहम् ॥२॥
sam aham eṣāṃ rāṣṭraṃ syāmi sam ojo vīryaṃ balam | vṛścāmi śatrūṇāṃ bāhūn anena haviṣā aham ||2||
Up I sharpen the royalty of them, up their force, heroism, strength; I hew [off] the arms of the foes with this oblation.

नीचैः पद्यन्ताम् अधरे भवन्तु ये नः सूरिं मघवानं पृतन्यान् । क्षिणामि ब्रह्मणामित्रान् उन् नयामि स्वान् अहम् ॥३॥
nīcaiḥ padyantām adhare bhavantu ye naḥ sūriṃ maghavānaṃ pṛtanyān | kṣiṇāmi brahmaṇāmitrān un nayāmi svān aham ||3||
Downward let them fall, let them become inferior, who shall fight against (pṛtany-) our bounteous patron (sūrí); I destroy the enemies by my incantation; I lead up our own men.

तीक्ष्णीयांसः परशोर् अग्नेस् तीक्ष्णतरा उत । इन्द्रस्य वज्रात् तीक्ष्णीयांसो येषाम् अस्मि पुरोहितः ॥४॥
tīkṣṇīyāṃsaḥ paraśor agnes tīkṣṇatarā uta | indrasya vajrāt tīkṣṇīyāṃso yeṣām asmi purohitaḥ ||4||
Sharper than an ax, also sharper than fire, sharper than Indra's thunderbolt—[they] of whom I am the household priest.

एषाम् अहम् आयुधा सं स्याम्य् एषां राष्ट्रं सुवीरं वर्धयामि । एषाम् क्षत्रम् अजरम् अस्तु जिष्ण्व् एषां चित्तं विश्वे ऽवन्तु देवाः ॥५॥
eṣām aham āyudhā saṃ syāmy eṣāṃ rāṣṭraṃ suvīraṃ vardhayāmi | eṣām kṣatram ajaram astu jiṣṇv eṣāṃ cittaṃ viśve 'vantu devāḥ ||5||
The weapons of them I sharpen up; their royalty having good heroes, I increase; be their authority unwasting, victorious; their intent let all the gods aid.

उद् धर्षन्तां मघवन् वाजिनान्य् उद् वीराणां जयताम् एतु घोषः । पृथग् घोषा उलुलयः केतुमन्त उद् ईरताम् । देवा इन्द्रज्येष्ठा मरुतो यन्तु सेनया ॥६॥
ud dharṣantāṃ maghavan vājināny ud vīrāṇāṃ jayatām etu ghoṣaḥ | pṛthag ghoṣā ululayaḥ ketumanta ud īratām | devā indrajyeṣṭhā maruto yantu senayā ||6||
Let their energies (vā́jina) be excited, O bounteous one (maghávan); let the noise of the conquering heroes arise; let the noises, the clear (ketumánt) halloos, go up severally; let the divine Maruts, with Indra as their chief, go with the army.

प्रेता जयता नर उग्रा वः सन्तु बाहवः । तीक्ष्णेषवो ऽबलधन्वनो हतोग्रायुधा अबलान् उग्रबाहवः ॥७॥
pretā jayatā nara ugrā vaḥ santu bāhavaḥ | tīkṣṇeṣavo 'baladhanvano hatogrāyudhā abalān ugrabāhavaḥ ||7||
Go forth, conquer, O men; formidable be your arms (bāhú); having sharp arrows, slay them of weak bows; having formidable weapons, having formidable arms (bāhú), [slay] the weak ones.

अवसृष्टा परा पत शरव्ये ब्रह्मसंशिते । जय अमित्रान् प्र पद्यस्व जह्य् एषां वरंवरं मामीषां मोचि कश् चन ॥८॥
avasṛṣṭā parā pata śaravye brahmasaṃśite | jaya amitrān pra padyasva jahy eṣāṃ varaṃvaraṃ māmīṣāṃ moci kaś cana ||8||
Being let loose, fly thou away, O volley, thou that art sharpened up by incantation; conquer the enemies; go forth; slay of them each best one; let no one soever of them yonder be released.
