ऊर्ध्वं गच्छन्ति देवलोकादिषूत्पद्यन्ते सत्त्व-स्थाः सत्त्व-गुण-वृत्त-स्थाः । मध्ये तिष्ठन्ति मनुष्येषूत्पद्यन्ते राजसाः । जघन्य-गुण-वृत्त-स्था जघन्यश् चासौ गुणश् च जघन्य-गुणस् तमः, तस्य वृत्तं निद्रालस्यादि, तस्मिन् स्थिताः जघन्य-गुण-वृत्त-स्थाः मूढाः अधो गच्छन्ति पश्व्-आदिषूत्पद्यन्ते तामसाः
