सर्वथा वञ्जितो राजा अशोको यच्छ्रमणेषु शाक्यपुत्रीयेषु कारां करोति। एतच्च वचनं श्रुत्वा राजा उपायज्ञो ऽमात्यानुवाच--अयं वीतशोकस्तीर्थ्याभिप्रसन्नः।
