तत् किम् अहं पर-पिण्डेन आत्मानं पोषयामि ? कष्टं भोः ! तद् अपि द्वितीयं मृत्यु-द्वारम् । अन्यच् च- रोगी चिर-प्रवासी परान्न-भोजी परावसथ-शायी । यज् जीवति तन् मरणं यन् मरणं सो ऽस्य विश्रामः

tat kim ahaṃ para-piṇḍena ātmānaṃ poṣayāmi ? kaṣṭaṃ bhoḥ ! tad api dvitīyaṃ mṛtyu-dvāram | anyac ca- rogī cira-pravāsī parānna-bhojī parāvasatha-śāyī | yaj jīvati tan maraṇaṃ yan maraṇaṃ so 'sya viśrāmaḥ
