स्तॄञ् आच्छादने, अस्माद् धातोः वि-शब्दे उपपदे घञ् पत्ययो भवति प्रथने गम्यमाने, तच् चेत् प्रथनं शब्द-विषयं न भवति । प्रथनं विस्तीर्णता । पटस्य विस्तारः । प्रथने इति किम् ? तृणविस्तरः । अशब्दे इति किम् ? विस्तरो वचसाम् ॥ छन्दोनाम्नि च
