तच् छ्रुत्वाहं मनसा विचिन्तितवान्-यतो ऽङ्गुलि-मात्रम् अपि कूर्दन-शक्तिर् नास्ति, तद् धिग् अर्थ-हीनस्य पुरुषस्य जीवितम् । उक्तं च- अर्थेन च विहीनस्य पुरुषस्याल्प-मेधसः । व्युच्छिद्यन्ते क्रियाः सर्वा ग्रीष्मे कुसरितो यथा
tac chrutvāhaṃ manasā vicintitavān-yato 'ṅguli-mātram api kūrdana-śaktir nāsti, tad dhig artha-hīnasya puruṣasya jīvitam | uktaṃ ca- arthena ca vihīnasya puruṣasyālpa-medhasaḥ | vyucchidyante kriyāḥ sarvā grīṣme kusarito yathā
