दिर्घाद् उत्तरस्य वरुणस्य यद् उक्तं तन् न भवति । ऐन्द्रावरुणम् । मैत्रावरुणम् । दीर्घात् इति किम् ? आग्निवारुणीमनड्वाहीमालभेते । अग्नेः ईदग्नेः सोमवरुणयोः (*६,३।२७) इत्य् अस्य अनङपवादस्य इद्वृद्धौ (*६,३।२८) इति प्रतिषेधो विधीयते, तेन दीर्घात् परो न भवति ॥ प्राचां नगरान्ते
dirghād uttarasya varuṇasya yad uktaṃ tan na bhavati / aindrāvaruṇam / maitrāvaruṇam / dīrghāt iti kim ? āgnivāruṇīmanaḍvāhīmālabhete / agneḥ īdagneḥ somavaruṇayoḥ (*6,3.27) ity asya anaṅapavādasya idvṛddhau (*6,3.28) iti pratiṣedho vidhīyate, tena dīrghāt paro na bhavati // prācāṃ nagarānte
