Devanagari rendered by HREEM from the edition's roman (IAST) text; the IAST is the edition's own.
Agni I hold as herald, the munificent, the gracious, Son of Strength, who knoweth all that live, as holy Singer, knowing all, Lord of fair rites, a God with form erected turning to the Gods, He, when the flame hath sprung forth from the holy oil, the offered fatness, longeth for it with his glow.
Translated by Ralph T. H. Griffith (1896)This is the translator's rendering of the same verse where it occurs at RV 1.127.1; the wording of this text may differ in places.
